Welcome to prability.org

Thank you for visiting the home of Powell River Ability. We are operated by The Powell River Measuring Up Committee for Accessibility and Inclusion, as a legacy of our May 26, 2009 Ability First! Employment Gathering, through support from the City of Powell River and a grant from The Vancouver Foundation.
Our function is to provide persons with disabilities and local employers a one-stop employment information experience. This site's aim is two-fold: to help inform you of the help that is out there, and to better direct you to the appropriate service providers you need. We always welcome feedback and encourage you to let us know how we can improve your experience: Contact the webmaster info@prability.org

"There are currently 360,000 working-age people with disabilities in British Columbia. They have the motivation, education and abilities to be valuable members of our workforce and communities. Yet, they face an employment rate of 52.1%.
The Minister’s Council on Employment for Persons with Disabilities is inviting communities and organizations to join the 10 by 10 Challenge to increase employment for persons with disabilities in British Columbia by 10% by the year 2010."
